Erin Kennedy Bodywork, LLC

Erin Kennedy, RMP she/her/hers CranioSacral and Massage Practitioner Specializing in Women's Health
Erin Kennedy has been practicing massage and bodywork in the Annapolis area for over 20 years. She provides heart centered, trauma informed care to her clients with a focus on women’s health, inclusive of trans and non-binary individuals. She blends intuitive touch, myofascial massage, and craniosacral techniques to provide relief from pain and tension in the body and promote overall wellness, with an additional aim of cultivating body awareness and self acceptance.
Erin has always been passionate about working with women throughout all stages of life, and has recently found immense joy in helping those over the age of 40 learn to prioritize themselves, often after decades of prioritizing others. As she holds space for their bodies to be listened to, held, and supported, clients are able to access their own innate wisdom and find a path to healing. Aside from the physical benefits, this rediscovery of the connection to the inner self ultimately leads to feelings of peace, clarity, and empowerment.
Erin has a special interest in pregnancy, birth, and babies, and has been certified in Nurturing the Mother®️ Prenatal and Postpartum massage since 2001. She has worked with countless expectant clients to bring comfort, ease, and stress relief to their pregnancies, which in turn supports mental well-being, healthy fetal development, and family bonding. She is also certified in Nurturing the Mother®️ Fertility Massage for clients who are trying to conceive, utilizing a combination of modalities that balance the body and help prepare it for conception.
Over the last 4 years, Erin has done extensive training in Upledger CranioSacral Therapy (CST), adjusting her approach to and understanding of the body, and allowing for deeper healing to occur. CST is particularly helpful for headaches, TMJ dysfunction, chronic pain, digestive issues, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and sleep problems. In addition, Erin has completed specialty training in CST for conception, pregnancy, birth, and the newborn period; and is certified in Integrative Reflexology.
Erin’s endless curiosity and compassion for others inspire her to perpetually continue her self-education and development. She allows her intuition, rooted in two decades of hands-on experience, to be her guide as she blends elements of her foundational modalities in unique ways to meet each client’s individual needs.
Erin identifies as a white, cis-het, queer, able bodied, neurodivergent woman and is committed to providing access to compassionate, high quality care in a safe, supportive environment to all who identify as women and/or AFAB, regardless of body size/shape, race, ability, or orientation.
Prenatal & Fertility Specialist
“Our bodies are designed to self-heal given the proper nurturing environment and encouragement to do so, and nowhere is this more evident than in a newborn baby. We all carry this innate ability within us throughout our lives and CranioSacral Therapy helps us get in touch with that ability."

What is CranioSacral Therapy?

CST is a gentle hands on modality that uses light touch to evaluate and enhance the function of the craniosacral system of the body, which is comprised of the membranes and fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Releasing restrictions in this delicate tissue has been shown to improve the function of the central nervous system, as well as many other systems in the body, including musculoskeletal, digestive, endocrine, and more. CST has also been shown to help with the physical components related to such somatic conditions as Post Traumatic Stress, depression, and anxiety. What is Myofascial Massage?

This is an approach to massage that focuses primarily on the connective tissue (fascia) that surrounds and supports the muscles, joints, and organs of the body. Releasing restrictions and encouraging fluid movement in this continuous web of connective fibers allows for increased mobility and deep, lasting relief from chronic tension and pain. The physical root cause of the pain we experience is often located in an area that may seem unrelated, due to compensation patterns following an injury or an imbalance developed over time. Myofascial work allows the body to reveal these patterns and addresses both the initial issue and the resulting restrictions. Sessions can be done as an overall full body experience, though more often the work is targeted to specific areas and blended with craniosacral techniques for enhanced results.
